Bernie McShea is Vice President of Business Development at Space Florida.

Bernie joined Space Florida in March 2008 to lead the organization’s business development efforts. His efforts are focused around identifying new opportunities to bring commercial launch and related business to Florida, as well as leading efforts to bring additional NASA contractor activity to Florida.  Bernie has a strong record of achievement in economic development, corporate site location, and government relations. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Investment for the
Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, leading the organization’s efforts to bring new jobs and wealth to the Pittsburgh, PA region. Twice during his eight year tenure the PRA received recognition by Site Selection as a Top Ten economic development group nationally, making Bernie one of a small group of economic developers to twice receive this prestigious recognition.   Prior to entering the economic development field, Bernie served as a Manager in the New York, NY and Princeton, NJ offices of Deloitte & Touche’s Fantus Consulting practice, advising clients on location strategies for new corporate facilities, and negotiating economic development incentive packages.

Bernie has also served as Legislative Director of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Washington, D.C. office under Governor Robert P. Casey, and as a Legislative  Assistant to U.S. Representative James H. Bilbray (Nevada - 1st District).

Bernie holds a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University, and a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
