
Marc Watson is the President of Imagine Creative Technology LLC, a Universal Studios Florida-based company that seeks to identify and develop business opportunities where the Modeling, Simulation & Training, Film/Television, immersive and interactive Entertainment industries converge.
TEQ Games is an Imagine Creative Technology LLC company. The start-up is focused on creating compelling and immersive learning experiences through virtual world game play and simulation technology.
Following six years of active duty in the Navy, Watson transferred to the Navy Reserve and founded Watson Engineering, Inc., a design-build engineering and project development firm in Florida which handled capital facility programs in excess of $150 million. In 1992, Sverdrup Corporation, one of the nation’s largest engineering and development firms, acquired the company and Mr. Watson joined as a senior corporate officer and head of Southeast U.S. operations. While at Sverdrup, Mr. Watson served as the Principal for the design contract for Jurassic Park at Universal’s Island’s of Adventure. Upon completion of this design, Mr. Watson joined Universal Studios as a Director responsible for the design and development of Super Hero Island, including the Amazing Adventure’s of Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk Coaster, and other immersive rides and experiences of this great themed attraction. In 1999, following the completion of Island’s of Adventure, Mr. Watson became the Director of Development for Universal City Property Management, a Universal Studios subsidiary charged with Orlando expansion activities.
In 2003, Mr. Watson and a partner acquired Universal City Property Management from Universal Studios and took over as President for this 2,200-acre urban eco-tourism resort located on a former industrial site adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center. In 2007, Mr. Watson sold his interest in Universal City Property Management and started Imagine Creative Technology, LLC, to focus his efforts on immersive simulation experiences and digital media development for education and entertainment
Mr. Watson is a graduate of The United States Naval Academy and former Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. He served as the Operations Officer at the Naval Construction Training Center responsible for the development of a broad range of curriculum and immersive training experiences for both active duty and reserve Seabee Battalions. As a Reserve CEC Officer, Mr. Watson developed two-week “war games” scenarios for active duty training of naval reservist in Holy Loch Scotland and London England.
Watson has been awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and Navy Commendation Medal, and is a licensed pilot. He is a past member of the Executive Committee and Board of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, the Orange County Convention Center Citizens Advisory Committee, the Orlando Executive Airport Advisory Board, and has served as the chairman of the Orlando Film Commission.
